The No.4 mattress represents the highest level of traditional craftsmanship within the Signature Collection, combining a stable support system with a deep, fibre-led comfort build. At its core is a 2000 pocket spring unit, specified to provide consistent, even support and a measured, composed response.
Above the spring system, layers of cotton, supersoft new English lambs wool, cashmere wool and silk are carefully built up to create a comfort structure that is dense, breathable and resilient. Hand-teased English spun horsehair adds natural spring, airflow and longevity, while a natural hessian spring insulator helps regulate temperature and maintain separation between the support and comfort layers.
Unlike more immediately responsive constructions, the natural fibre build of the No.4 mattress creates a slower, more immersive comfort experience. The surface feels balanced and composed on contact, with comfort that develops gradually as the fibres settle and respond through the night.
Finished with traditional hand tufting and multiple rows of hand side stitching, the No.4 mattress is designed to retain its shape, integrity and performance over time, reflecting a classical approach to mattress making.

Signature Atelier Service (Optional)
Through our Signature Atelier service, the No.4 mattress can be refined further to suit specific requirements. Options include adjusting the core spring strength to create a different support response, as well as the addition of further hand-teased natural comfort layers, comfort mini springs, or additional rows of hand side stitching.
All Atelier refinements are undertaken at our discretion to ensure the integrity, balance and long-term performance of the mattress are maintained.

It suits those who prefer balance and resilience over immediate softness, and who appreciate luxury expressed through craftsmanship rather than surface indulgence.
If you prefer a more responsive, yielding surface feel with greater elasticity, No.3 may be more suitable. For a more indulgent, built-in comfort layer with minimal maintenance, No.5 offers an alternative approach.
